Healthy Eating – DIY Nutella

Hey there – day 2 of Health Week! Today I will be posting about homemade Nutella. Quite arguably the internet’s favorite food, Nutella is a yummy mixture of hazelnut with skim milk and cocoa.

However, Nutella is not good for you (Sorry!). I could explain why to you in words, but as always, actions speak louder. Here is a  video about just what is in that yummy snack.

Now that you have watched that… Lets get working on our own Nutella!! This recipe is adapted from Tales of a Kitchen.


1 1/2 cups raw hazelnuts

7 Tablespoons of cacao or carob powder

8 Medjool dates

2/3 cups of Almond Milk (You could use yesterdays recipe for almond milk! Link:, or water.

Pinch of sea salt

2 Tablespoons coconut oil

2/3 teaspoons vanilla extract

1/2 drop of dōTERRA essential oil, cinnamon (Use a toothpick to get half a drop)


1. Add Hazelnuts to blender and mix until a sticky dough forms. Before it becomes a butter!

2. Put Cinnamon dōTERRA essential oil into mixture.

3. Add all the rest of the ingredients until it becomes a smooth butter.

Then eat that yummy, do it yourself, nutella!
